Do attitudes toward gender equality really differ between Norway and Sweden? Niklas Jakobsson and Andreas Kotsadam October, 2009 Abstract Using survey data from Norway and Sweden, we assess people’s attitudes toward gender equality. Previous studies argue that these attitudes are more egalitarian in Sweden than in Norway.

Sweden received a score of 82.6, thereby topping the list. Greece, Hungary and the Slovak Republic are at the bottom of the list. The gender equality perspective permeates everything that is done at the Swedish Film Institute: from production funding to the choice of films to promote from the archive, to the recruitment of new personnel. One of the Film Institute's goals is to lay the foundation for gender equality in film production, a labour that moves forward with the aid of concrete action plans.
